Dheefsin Agro-Livestock Group Cooperative abbreviated as “TFC” is a joint venture small scale farming vegetables/fruits and fattening livestock cooperative consisting of 5 different farming cooperatives united under a single umbrella, based in the outskirts of Galkayo, Fardacune 40km
north-west of Galkayo.

 The cooperative was established on April 04, 2015 with the focus on
creating alternative sustainable livelihood option for the food insecure displaced pasture community households after lost their livestock products during the prolonged dry season.

Dheefsin was founded by a group of locals envisioned to help poor locals by enabling them to make profits from their rich lands and soil, Instead of becoming a local IDP. It’s locally registered under the municipal office and the regional directorate of the environment and farming ministry
of Puntland Somalia. Dheefsin based Fadacune farmers is situated at a rich fertilizing soil with vast capacity of hosting organic plantations that can produce best quality of fruits and vegetations. Good amount of organic products have already been seeded and fertilized, producing good quality of marketable vegetables and fruits. With this unique thinking, they have had made 2 different farms fields and at the pilot stage produced all sorts of almost all vegetations types and fruits and the soil inhabited corresponded with positive outcome producing good quality of organic products.  

Moreover, Dheefsin is a newly established organic fruits/vegetables farming and livestock fattening cooperation that came together to build food block chain with capacity to provide fruits/vegetables and livestock meat to the local community and inject local markets with the provision of high quality fruits with minimum cost of purchasing by the local consumers.

 Dheefsin currently, runs 5 different farming cooperatives and the current efforts had already sustained the production capacity of providing small scale market commodity that in turn covers the employees/farmers wages and irrigational water supply.

Although, the market demand in Galkaio for vegetables/fruits and meat are at high peak and the need for supply is constantly growing, Dheefsin has limited water supply due to the lack of elevated concrete water tank with accessibility to supply the capacity of water for plantations and livestock but instead helps farmers buy water and keep it into water storages built inside farm; this is the current situation of the cooperative.

However, the cooperative has yet approached another organization for a loan, the only obstacle hindering the move forward of reaching the certain set of objectives from this perspective is the current state of lack of adequate water supply.
Therefore, Dheefsin is in hope to have this problem resolved with the provision of construction that can supply the capacity of irrigational water capacity required to produce the intended quantity of water. The whole process will take three months duration of the project implementation and in 3months, the first harvest will take place. Thus, the impact will be
sustainable as it wills viable livelihood option for the displaced pasture community with no alternative source of income.
